Basically all characters/symbols/logos have to be provided by a font. In V2.1 and above, symbols and characters can be defined within a Unigraphics part following some simple guidelines. Such 'Unigraphics part fonts' can be used in a seamless way within TrueTypeUG like any other font type.
Symbols and characters can also be defined in TrueType-fonts. Creating
and editing of TrueType-fonts can be either subcontracted to a font design
company (the web will probably list a service in your area) or you can do
it on your own. For doing so, a couple of tools are available:
No. TrueTypeUG creates dumb wireframe-geometry as one would do by creating simple lines and curves. Solid text is created by extruding previous curves.
TrueTypeUG is written in portable code and if you are seriously interested in another platform, you should submit a TrueTypeUG - Platform Request.
An UG/Open API Execute license is fetched in two situations:
The license is released immediately after starting Unigraphics/after
finishing the dialog.
If no license can be obtained, the system will
display the error message 'No UG/Open API Execute - License available'.
TrueTypeUG uses a proprietary licensing mechanism and can either be licensed for your complete company or it can be licensed node locked.
For site-licenses, pricing is related to the number of UG-Solid-Modeling-licenses at your company. For node locked licensing, pricing is based on the intended number of machines. For more information, please contact Heinrich Wiedemann
